Claire Read is a documentary filmmaker based in New York. She produced Telemarketers, the hit 2023 HBO docuseries from executive producers the Safdie Brothers and Danny McBride. Telemarketers was named a top ten TV show of the year by TIME and a top episode by the New York Times. It won the 2023 Critics Choice award for best true crime docuseries and was nominated for a Gotham award for breakthrough series. Previously, Claire produced the HBO docuseries, The Vow (Parts I & II), and associate produced The Great Hack, both from directors Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer.  In 2023, her short documentary, The Pedestrian, premiered at Rooftop Films and was selected as best documentary short by the Montclair Film Festival jury. It also played Rockaway Film Festival, Hamptons Film Festival, and Anthology Film Archives’ New Filmmakers. Previously, she worked on VICE’s HBO docuseries, and on VICELAND's States of Undress hosted by Hailey Gates. Claire is currently in post production on a documentary about the redevelopment debate surrounding New York's Penn Station. She is also developing films surrounding themes of queer and female identity, the contemporary art world, and city politics. Claire is a member of the Documentary Producers Alliance. She received a BFA from Oberlin College.
