Claire Read is a filmmaker and producer. In 2025, she produced the Peabody winning, Emmy nominated feature documentary Thoughts & Prayers for HBO. Her documentary short Penn F—ing Station is streaming with PBS and broadcast with WETA in 2026. Penn F—ing Station received a Rooftop Filmmakers Fund grant and played at DC/DOX, Rooftop Films, Montclair Film Festival, The Maysles Documentary Center, Firehouse DCTV and Mezzanine Film. Claire produced the 2023 HBO docuseries Telemarketers from the Safdie Brothers and Danny McBride. The show was Emmy nominated and won Cinema Eye Honors and Critics Choice awards. Telemarketers was named a top show of 2023 by TIME and a top episode by the New York Times. In 2024, Claire was named in Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film. Claire produced the HBO docuseries, The Vow (Parts I & II), and associate produced The Great Hack, both from directors Jehane Noujaim and Karim Amer. In 2023, her documentary short, The Pedestrian, premiered at Rooftop Films and was selected as best documentary short by the Montclair Film Festival jury. It played Rockaway Film Festival, Hamptons Film Festival, and Anthology Film Archives’ New Filmmakers. Previously, she worked on VICE’s HBO docuseries, and on VICELAND's States of Undress hosted by Hailey Gates. Claire received a BFA from Oberlin College.
